I've had trouble with lm_sensors not separating cleanly between chip sections, meaning settings of a previous chip section are picked up for the chip section you're currently editing. As the main board hardware isn't going to change, it's best to replace the contents of /etc/sensors.conf completely, but keep the comments at the top. Like mv /etc/sensors.conf /etc/sensors.conf.orig mv sensors-XXX.conf /etc/sensors.conf rm /etc/sensors3.conf mv /usr/sbin/fancontrol /usr/sbin/fancontrol.orig mv fancontrol-XXX /usr/sbin/fancontrol Do not paste any text into the file from the browser screen! Download the file instead. The fancontrol script is effective only with a correct /etc/fancontrol config file. Create one by running pwmconfig, and add a THRESHTEMP setting with a text editor.
